Betty Mae Moody “Clark”, 93, passed away in Paola, Kansas on March 14, 2022. She was born October 11, 1928, in Ketchum, Oklahoma, to James Madison McKnight and Cloe Etta (Jones) McKnight. She was a 1946 graduate of Ketchum High School. Betty worked as a switchboard operator for many years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ketchum for many years and recently was a member at First Baptist in Paola, Kansas. Betty enjoyed quilting, gardening, and could run a weed eater as well as anyone. She loved the farm and caring for the animals and dogs. Above all she loved her family. Her children, grandchildren and other family members were all dear to her heart. She loved them all unconditionally. Betty Clark will be missed by all who knew her.
Preceding Betty in death are her parents, James and Cloe Etta McKnight, husband J. T. “Jake” Moody, children James Michael Moody, Janice Gore, and Tommy Moody; siblings, Bill McKnight, Frank McKnight JD McKnight, and Francis Armentrout.
Survivors include a daughter Paula Brophy and husband William, of Paola, Kansas; six grandchildren, Jim Moody, Pam Zahan, Jon Moody, Jenifer Moody, Elena Gore, and JJ Gore; six great-grandchildren; siblings Marie McKnight, Carolyn Pool, Louis McKnight, Raymond McKnight, Robert McKnight; other relatives and a host of friends
Visitation for Betty will be held from noon to 7 pm at the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel. The family will be present from 5 pm to 7 pm. Graveside services for will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 18, 2022 at Carselowey Cemetery in Craig County near Vinita.
