Bobby Bennett

Bobby Gene Bennett passed away May 14, 2021 in Vinita. He was born May 25, 1934 in White Oak, the son of Roy Bennett and Jewell (Williams) Bennett. Bob graduated from White Oak High School in 1952, following high school in 1953 he enlisted in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He returned from the military and married Sue Coppedge, to this union two children were born, Randy and Cathy Bennett. Bob was a Korean War Veteran and a member of Dale Peace Post 40 for sixty eight years. He owned Bennett Lumber and Hardware, and S & B Mini Storage. Bob married Samuella Gross and became a stepfather to J. Michael Klinglesmith, Deborah Klinglesmith, and Lesa Klinglesmith. Bob and Sammy shared forty two wonderful years together. He was a past Commander of the Dale Peace Post 40 and worked countless hours on the Will Rogers Memorial Rodeo. Bob owned a driving range for local golfers and enjoyed working in his yard and garden.

Bob is preceded in death by a son, Danny Bennett.

Survivors include his wife, Samuella (Gross) Bennett and grandson, Tristan Weaver both of the home; children, Randy and wife Debbie of Tulsa, Cathy Bennett of Nowata, J. Michael Klinglesmith and wife Meschell of Miami, Deborah Shoemaker and husband Herb of Carmel Valley, CA, Lesa Williams and Husband Glenn of Morrisville, North Carolina; twenty-five grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren. Bob had fourteen siblings growing up, his brother Sonny Bennett and sister Lynn Scott live at White Oak, also numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 18, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 at the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Skip McClain officiating.
