Carole Ruth McSpadden, 87, passed away on Saturday, September 6, 2025. She was a native of Vinita, Oklahoma, and married the love of her life, Mark McSpadden, on October 11, 1958. After living in Atlanta, Georgia and Boulder, Colorado, Mark and Carole returned to Ketchum in 1973. She graduated from Northeastern Oklahoma State University in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science in Education. She served as a substitute teacher for many years at Ketchum Public Schools. She also was a licensed Nursing Home Administrator for the State of Oklahoma. She was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys, The University of Oklahoma football, and Ketchum High School basketball. She loved spending time with her family and her grandchildren.
Survivors include her sons; Nevin McSpadden and his wife Lori, of Eatonville, Washington; David McSpadden and his husband Hank, of Valencia, Spain; Mark Wesley McSpadden and his wife, Maureen McManus of Edmond, Oklahoma; and Matthew McSpadden, and his wife, Ann of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Kaitlyn McSpadden, Hannah McSpadden, Sean McSpadden, and Joseph Kyle; one brother, Robert Bryant; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Mark McSpadden; her parents, Fred and Nona Bryant; and 11 brothers and sisters.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, October 9, at the First Baptist Church in Langley, Oklahoma for both Mark and Carole McSpadden. Time to be determined and updated by Luginbuel Funeral Home, Vinita, Oklahoma.
