Duane Davenport

Duane Davenport, 85, of Vinita, passed away February 18, 2021 at OSU Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born March 9, 1935 in Blackwell, Oklahoma to Orville and Leta (McVay) Davenport. He was raised in the Centraila, Oklahoma area where he graduated from Centraila High School. On August 10, 1956 he married Sandra Ann Hildebrand in Welch. Duane was a cowboy’s cowboy. He enjoyed tractors, horses, cows, and roping. Duane was a wheeling dealing sometimes hardheaded man that loved talking to friends and others. He loved going to auctions, garage sales, and especially going to the Will Rogers Memorial Rodeo and Parade. Duane was a very good man and will be missed by all.

Mr. Davenport is preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Leta Davenport; his wife, Sandra; grandchildren, Blake Longan, Darren Rexwinkle, Ashley Rexwinkle; a brother, Danny Davenport; and sisters, Jane Livingston, Thelma Girty, and Orvella Moody.

Survivers include his children, Tim Davenport and wife Lyndi of Vinita, Tammy Lucas and husband Phil of Vinita, Rowdy Davenport and wife Rhonda of Bluejacket; a brother, Jack Davenport of Vinita; eleven grandchildren, Leeann Wilson and husband Sam,  Landon Lucas and wife Jenn, Lacee  Tonche and husband Randy, Tessa Longan and husband Brian, Ty Davenport and wife Jessica, Trey Davenport and wife Shena, Shai Arizpe and husband Tony, Dakota Davenport, Chris Rexwinkle and wife Andrea, Doug Rexwinlke, Casey Rexwinkle; 31 great grandchildren; many other relatives and a host of friends.

A visitation is set for Sunday, February 21, 2021 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm in the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be at 2:00 pm Monday, February 22, 2021 in the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel with Sam Wilson officiating. Burial will commence at Bluejacket Cemetery immediately following the funeral service.
