Frank "Bud" Ronsse

Francis Robert Ronsse, Jr. (Bud) passed away on June 19 at the age of 77, after a valiant battle with Lewy Body Dementia.

Bud was born May 7, 1948 to Francis R. and Louise A. Floersch Ronsse. Bud grew up in the Sandy Hook community of St. Marys, KS. He attended Immaculate Conception Grade School and St. Marys High School, graduating in 1966. He graduated from Emporia State University, Emporia, KS with a business degree and was a founding member of the Phi Kappa Tau fraternity. He was also a member of the Kansas National Guard.

He married his college sweetheart, Janie D. Heironymus on January 10, 1975. She preceded him in death on August 22, 2012. Early in his career, he had a variety of business jobs, but found his true calling as a financial planner. On June 3, 2016, he married Lois Godkins. He was blessed to find love a second time with Lois, and they enjoyed traveling and life at Grand Lake, Oklahoma. She survives of the home.

Survivors include his sons, Jason (Vanessa) Ronsse, Honolulu, HI and Jeffrey (Heather) Ronsse, Greenwood Village, CO. His grandchildren include Jacob and Jason Ronsse, Honolulu, HI, Isabella (Liam) Harlan, Portland, OR, Morgan, Tucker and Declan Ronsse, Greenwood Village, CO. His extended family includes Scott Godkins, Sioux Falls, SD, and daughters Addie and Gabby, Tulsa, OK , Heather (Steve) McDonnell and sons Vinny and Leo, Aurora, CO. His siblings include Jaye(Bill) Pryor, Lee’s Summit, MO, Pete(Gae) Ronsse, Marquette, KS, Dennis(Annie) Ronsse, Anchorage, AK, Marian(Tom) Sweany, Topeka, KS along with many nieces and nephews, and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Bud’s passion was his family, his faith and Anchor’s End, a small lake community on Grand Lake, OK that he and Janie developed and called home over 30 years ago. Even faced with his devastating disease, he never lost his sense of humor. He faced life with faith, courage and dignity. He had a passion for helping others and always wanted to receive the gift of telling him who you helped. The family is very thankful to Morningstar at Holly Park Senior Living Facility in Centennial, CO where they lived since July 2024 to be close to family and for being so attentive to his needs and his care in the last eleven months of his life.
