Horace "Pete" Ivey, Jr.

Horace Rudolph “Pete” Ivey, Jr., passed away Sunday, August 16, 2020.  Pete was born in Atlanta, GA on October 13, 1941 to Horace R. Ivey and Mary (Rawls) Ivey.  At an early age, the Ivey family moved to Tulsa where Pete attended schools, graduating from Central High School in 1960.  Pete graduated from his beloved Oklahoma State University in 1965.

Pete married Jo Carol Freeman on April 14, 1972 in Houston, TX.  Pete enjoyed working in sales most of his career.  Upon retirement, Pete and Jo Carol happily moved to Grand Lake in 2000, where Pete worked at Walmart for 10 years.  He was an avid fisherman and sports fan.

Survivors include his wife Jo Carol of the home, stepson Michael Miles and wife Chrissy of Redondo Beach, CA, his adored granddaughters Davy Miles and Presley Miles, one sister, Mary Ivey Brightwell of Woodstock, CA, nephew Russell Brightwell and wife Kelli of Canton, GA, as well as other close family members.

No services are scheduled at this time, but memorials may be sent in his honor to the Second Chance Pet Rescue or the American Heart Association.  Arrangements are under the direction of Worley Luginbuel Funeral Home.  Online condolences may be made at www.honoringmemories.com or on the Worley Luginbuel Facebook page.
