Jack Wayne Davis II

Jack Wayne Davis II was born on May 28, 1957, in Pryor Oklahoma to Jack and Wanda Davis. He left to join the Lord, his parents, and his sister Debra on January 26, 2024, in Vinita, Oklahoma. He is survived by his two older sisters, Connie Gardner of Plano, Texas and Shari Bradley of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, his nieces and nephews, Scott Walters, Stephanie Allen and family, Michelle Holley and family, William (Billy) Koepp and family, Ivoire Winn and family, Jessica Jones and family, as well as his close cousins and countless friends.

To know Wayne was to know true joy. He had a curiosity and zest for life that was unmatched. He was a resident of Hissom Memorial Center then, in his 20s, moved to Home of Hope in Vinita, OK. With the support of Home of Hope and his loving family, Wayne thrived. He became highly involved in the Special Olympics, becoming an accomplished swimmer and the recipient of over 70 medals, including two golds and one silver from the World Special Olympics held in Connecticut. The athletes were welcomed home with a parade and invited to the Governor’s Mansion for a celebration of their accomplishments. After his retirement from swimming, Wayne remained active in the Special Olympics, competing in state-wide horseshoe events and winning those too. Wayne, never satisfied with sitting still, worked in Vinita until he retired at the age of 64.  He stayed active by attending several Red River Rivalries to cheer on his beloved Longhorns, taking a cruise with family, visiting Graceland, throwing horseshoes, and bringing joy to everyone he would meet. Wayne had an infectious laugh, a smile that could light up a room, an ornery spirit, and a heart of gold. He will be missed by all.

Funeral Services for Jack Davis will be Saturday February 10, 2024 at 1:00 pm at the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Graham Cemetery in Pryor, Oklahoma. Online condolences may be left at www.honoringmemories.com.
