James Richards

James Eugene Richards, 90, of Afton, Oklahoma, passed away August 7, 2022, in Fairland, Oklahoma. He was born November 21, 1931, in Vinita, Oklahoma, to Floyd Chester Richards and Eva Jane (Peacock) Richards. He graduated from High School and continued his education for two more years at college.  James was married to Peggy Marie Spunaugle in June of 1952, and he attended the Lake Center Baptist Church on Monkey Island at Grand Lake. He enjoyed church visitations, and talking to, and being around his church family. He also enjoyed tinkering on things and fishing. James was a very loving and caring person. He was very easy going and loved meeting new friends. James will be missed by all who knew him.

Mr. Richards is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Eva Jane Richards, his wife Peggy Richards, and a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Richards Taylor. Survivors include his sons, James David Richards, and wife Maureen, of Grove, Larry Eugene Richards, and wife Kim, of El Dorado, Kansas, a daughter, Sandra Kay Pickett, and husband Dan, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, seven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and one great grandchild, many other relatives, and a host of friends.
