With her personality and trademark smile, Janet was a cornerstone in the lives of many. She had a remarkable career in education, serving as a middle school teacher in both Oklahoma and Texas. Her interests were as vibrant as her personality. Janet had a profound love for the arts and entertainment, whether it be dancing, attending concerts, or simply enjoying music that made her heart sing. An avid sports fan, she was particularly passionate about the Oklahoma State University Cowboys, often found cheering enthusiastically from the bleachers. Travel was another of her loves, and her favorite adventures included unforgettable cruises, with the Alaskan cruise holding a special place in her heart. She was also a great cook, delighting family and friends with her culinary skills.
Throughout her life, Janet achieved many proud accomplishments. She served as the PRCA Rodeo Secretary for the legendary cowboy Jim Shoulders and taught swimming lessons to children, instilling confidence and safety in young swimmers. Additionally, she was a cherished member of the Shriner's Auxiliary, giving back to the community she loved.
Janet was proud to be known as a dedicated mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her loving husband, Cecil Cox of Vinita; and her sons, Cody Shoulders (Jennifer) of Tulsa and Kelly Shoulders (Michelle) of Fort Worth, Texas. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Tiffany, Andrew, and Ava, who were the apples of her eye, and she cherished every moment spent with them. She also leaves behind her brother, Joe Hale (Judy) of Fort Worth, Texas, who supported and cared for her throughout their lives. She joins her parents in rest, leaving a legacy of love that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
