Janet Marie Shaw, sixty-four-year-old Vinita resident passed away November 04, 2020 in Vinita, Oklahoma. She was born March 31, 1956 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas the daughter of Ivan Boevers and Donna Marie (Vogel) Boevers. Janet attended and was a graduate of Vinita High School, Class of 1974. After graduation she attended the Afton Vo-Tech and became a licensed practical nurse. She married John Shaw September 5, 1989, in Miami, Oklahoma. Janet worked at Rosewood Villa and Eastern State Hospital until she retired in 2010. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Vinita. Janet had been a lifelong resident of Vinita except for a short time she spent in Miami and Ketchum.

She was preceded in death by her mother, father, daughter Christy Shaw and a brother Bennie Boevers.

Janet is survived by daughters, Jessie Russell of Vinita, Oklahoma, Belinda Jasmin and husband John of Webb City, Missouri, Teresa Mercer and husband David of Miami, Oklahoma; sons Jason “Buck” Dobbs of Vinita, Oklahoma, John Shaw and wife Josie of Webb City, Missouri; sixteen grandchildren and thirty-three great-grandchildren.

A family visitation will be held Sunday, November 08, 2020 from 5:00 to 6:00 pm in the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel, Vinita, OK. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Monday, November 09, 2020 Luginbuel Funeral Home, Vinita, OK with Pastor Justin Turner officiating. Burial will follow at Timpson Chapel Cemetery.
