Reflection of Life

Joe Frances (Vann) Ramsey, age 92 became absent from the body and present with the Lord on  Monday, November 20th, 2023. Joe Frances was born on December 23, 1930 in Vinita Oklahoma to Stan and Ethel (Bean) Vann. She was the youngest of eight children. She attended Attucks School. Joe Frances confessed her love and faith in our Lord and Savior at a young age.

In June of 1947 Joe Frances married Robert Ramsey in Parsons, Kansas, from their union that had 10 children. Rachel, Marsha, Robert Jr. Harvey, Alvin, Bessie, Rodrick, Dennis, Syrina, and Eddie. One bonus daughter Marcelette

Joe Frances lived her entire life in Vinita. She served her community in many different capacities. To name a few she worked several years as a waitress at the Glass House Restaurant as well as the Eastern State Hospital. After retirement she spent most of her time on the go. She loved to travel to see and be with her family. One of her well known passions was Robert Ramsey Sr., although it was said that Robert (Daddy) had Joe Frances (Mommy) spoiled, she too would do anything for him. For 24 years she stood by his side and traveled the highway back and forward to Nowata, Ok to pastor the Mt. Olive Baptist Church. She was a faithful member. Before becoming a pastor's wife she was involved with the St. Paul District young adults. Sister Joe Frances’s ministry started in the young adults, she later became and served for many years as the St.Paul District Women Mission Union president as well as a member of the St. Paul District Pastors Ministers and wives auxiliary.  She was devoted to her husband and her ministry. In September of 2002 her husband was called home to be with the Lord. Joe Frances' love for him was stunned, however her faithfulness to the Lord continued. She then moved her membership from Mt. Olive Baptist to the United Missionary Baptist under the leadership of  Rev. Downing and Rev. Robert Ramsey Jr. While there, she was still involved with the mission and choir ministry. In 2006 when Serenity Missionary Baptist was initiated, Joe Frances moved her membership to Serenity under the leadership of Rev. Robert Ramsey Jr., where she once again was an active member until her health slowed her down but did not stop her.
