John Robert “Robby” Burns was born in Jay, Oklahoma to the parents of John Earnest and Leona (Allen) Burns. He passed away on Sunday, April 25, 2021 at his home in Eucha, OK.
Robby was a very special man; he was the last male baby born at Jay hospital. Everyone always says they’ll give the shirt off their back, but Robby would give you his boots and rough it on the creek bed just so you would feel comfortable. Robby loved to have gatherings, whether it was at the creek giggin, at his house after getting out of deer stands, or just an evening game of shoes. Friends were very important to Robby; he never met a stranger. Robby was a very big family man as well, his girls were his world, all 3 of them. He was always trying to teach them something new and his wife, bless her heart he was always taking her along to his next adventure. If he had his Crystal Ann with him, he was alright because Crystal Ann would get it. He was a momma’s boy and a replica of his daddy. There wasn’t a motor he couldn’t fix and if by chance he couldn’t fix it he knew who could. Robby would come pull you out of a blizzard and change your tire in a rainstorm. His only downfall was that he was an OSU fan, but he was saved as a teen, so God is showing him the right way. Momma always had him in church as a child. She tried, Lord knows she tried, and it showed too. He had a good gentle heart, with just a little ornery side. He loved having fun and was an adrenaline junkie as a child. It started with guns, there wasn’t a gun he wouldn’t shoot, then came 4 wheelers and from 4 wheelers to trucks to working on tanks and then to cell towers. He had a lead foot, the faster the better. Grandpa Burns used to tell him “you’re gonna have to come out and dust my leaves” Dad taught him how to dive in his early teen years. He loved diving and did so when noodling. He was always outside in his shop tinkering with something for someone. Robby loved his family dearly; he will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
