Johnnie Franklin Hayes, long time Northeast Oklahoma native, left this world the afternoon of February 27th, 2023, at Saint Francis in Tulsa OK. Johnnie was born July 8th 1955 in Claremore, OK. He was the son of Sandra Hayes (Merritt) and Jacob “Frank” Hayes.
Johnnie served his country in the US Army and was retired. He loved living out in the country, spending time outside doing yard work or building something.
Johnnie loved to spend time with his family, children, and grandchildren. He spent a lot of time in his life training horses. He also enjoyed shooting pool, dancing, working on cars, and drag racing.
We find comfort in knowing that he is no longer in pain and that we will see him again someday. Johnnie will be missed by many.
Johnnie was preceded in Death by his mother Sandra Hayes, step-mother Barbara Hayes, Brother Glen Hayes, brother in-law Larry Bowie, sister in-law Janet Sue Hayes, and sister in-law Janet Kay Hayes.
Those left to cherish his memory include Father Jacob ”Frank” Hayes of Owasso, Sister Susan Bowie of Owasso, Brothers Ed “Eddie” Jones of Vinita, Larry Hayes of Big Cabin, Terry Hayes of Big Cabin, Son Ross Hayes and wife Tia Hayes of Big Cabin, Daughters Katy Stratton and husband Beau Stratton of Afton, Bailey Hayes of Ketchum, and Brandi Kannmore of Afton, Grandchildren- Lillien, Maddison, Zoey, Dillon, Jordyn, Allie, Hayden, Courtney, Caleb, Ethan, Dalton, Adalynn, and Jameson. Along with many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 2, 2023 from 5-8 p.m. at the Luginbuel Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Friday, March 3, 2023 at the Luginbuel Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Timpson Chapel Cemetery.
