Jon Thor Karlsson

Jon Thor Karlsson, 58, passed away at St Francis hospital on May 11th. He was born in Keflavik, Iceland October 6th, 1966. Jon attended Keflavik schools before attending college at Spartan School of Aeronautics and Embry-Riddle School of Aeronautics.

Jon Thor was married to Tonya Fay Baldridge for 38 years. He enjoyed a career as an airplane mechanic, engineer and pilot. He found a love for traveling around the world, meeting people and learning from their culture. Jon Thor also had a great passion for writing songs, recording them in his home studio and even released an album to celebrate his love of music. He was a talented cook who enjoyed sharing his food and culture with everyone he met. Above all, Jon Thor cherished his family and spending time with his grandchildren was his greatest joy.

Jon is survived by his parents, Karl Hermannsson and Margaret Valdimarsdottir of Iceland; his brother Hermann Karlsson and family of Iceland; his wife Tonya Karlsson of Vinita, Ok; sons, Kristinn Karlsson (wife Jamie-Lynn), and Jakob Karlsson; daughter, Arnina La Mountain (husband Jefferson), and two granddaughters, Daenerys, and Solstice La Mountain; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel, 332 North Scraper Street, Vinita, Oklahoma, on June 14, 2025, at 11:00 am.
