Linda Kay Scott, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on December 19, 2025, in her hometown of White Oak, Oklahoma, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on March 31, 1947, in White Oak, Linda lived a life full of dedication, creativity, and joy.
Professionally, Linda was a talented hairdresser and small business owner, known for her impeccable grooming standards; she was always put together, with never a hair out of place or without makeup. Her career was complemented by a distinguished role at the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority, where she worked tirelessly for 27 years as a Tollbooth Operator. Regardless of the task at hand, whether it was small engine repair or perfecting her nails, Linda approached each challenge with determination and skill, finding a way to do whatever needed to be done.
Linda's vibrant personality endeared her to many. Known for her encouraging spirit, she would often tell others to enjoy life and live free. She had a knack for creating fond memories, especially during the holiday season when she would make Christmas candy to share with family and friends. Her charm and easy-going nature left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
In her leisure time, Linda found joy in playing games on the computer until the early hours of the morning, indulging her passion for reading—she was a speed reader—and appreciating the serenity of home, particularly in her yard where she loved to spend time.
Linda was immensely proud of her three children, Jackie Scott (David Guilford) of White Oak, Brian Scott (Sonya Heard) of White Oak, and Weston Scott (Cheryl Standley) of Bernice. Her love for them was deep and unwavering; they were her proudest accomplishments. She also cherished her three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, who brought her immeasurable joy.
Linda is survived by her children, brother Sonnie Bennett (Linda), sister-in-law Sammy Bennett, and her special friend Janet Mitchell, who will all carry forward her legacy of kindness and strength. She was preceded in death by her grandson Braydon Scott, her parents Roy and Jewel Bennett, and thirteen siblings.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation, which will be held on December 23, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita, Oklahoma.
