Obituary

Louise “Lou” Elizabeth Hayes, 88 of White Oak, went to join our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on the evening of October 6, 2026. She passed away surrounded by family in the home of Todd and Charlene Hayes. She was born at home; July 4, 1938 in Tioga, Kansas to James and Monna Duncan.

Lou was raised in the loving care of Monna and stepfather Fred Graham of Vinita enjoying her youth on the family farm and attended Dupree School. She later attended church at the old Campmeeting Tabernacle in Tulsa, there she became a member of the choir and a dedicated Sunday school teacher.

She was front and center of her children’s school activities, neighborhood fundraisers, and music lessons. Lou took great pride balancing homemaking and her career with the Department of Human Services until her retirement.

Lou took great joy in taking her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren to the zoo, picnics in the park, skating parties, and birthday celebrations. She loved treasure hunting at garage sales, thrift stores, and flea markets.

Above all, she loved her family, all had a special place in her heart, and she will be missed by all who knew her.

Preceding Lou in death are her parents James Duncan and Monna Graham, stepfather, Fred Graham, sister, Lois Duncan, son, Michael “Haystack” Hayes, son-in-law, Yankee Cormier and great great granddaughter, Lucia Marin.

She is survived by her son, Todd Hayes and wife, Charlene of Vinita, grandchildren Steve Hayes and wife, Lane, Sean Hayes and wife, Tiffany, Sloan Hayes and wife, Haylee, all of Vinita.

Daughter Ebony Jones, and husband, Gerald of Chelsea, grandchildren Tashona Jones of Chelsea, Tyi Jones of Claremore.

Daughter Ahnna Cormier of Chelsea, grandchildren Jeremie Wilbourn and wife, Bonnie of Mannford. Michael Wilbourn, and wife, Amanda of Clanton, Alabama.

Grandson, Brandon Koss, and wife, Eliece of Bradenton, Florida.

Grandson, Josh Hayes, and wife, Sara of Vinita.

Granddaughter, Jessica Young and fiancé, David West of Langley.

She ended up with a large family that also included 29 great grandchildren, and 12 great great grandchildren.

Her brother, Loren Duncan and wife, Farrel of Vinita.

Several nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita. "Family owned. Locally operated."
