Margie Marie McDougal

Margie Marie McDougal, born in Vinita, Oklahoma, on a warm summer day in 1949, bid farewell to this world on March 17, 2024, in Fairland, Oklahoma. She touched the lives of many as she journeyed through life with kindness and grace.

She graduated from White Oak High School, carrying with her the values of education and lifelong learning. Margie's dedication shone through her career as a Mental Health Aide at Eastern State Hospital. Her compassion and empathy made a significant impact on those under her care.

Beyond her professional life, Margie was a woman of diverse interests. She found joy in the simple pleasures of reading, solving crossword puzzles, and rooting for the Texas Longhorns. Her competitive spirit thrived in games like Yahtzee, while her love for crime shows like Criminal Minds and NCIS added excitement to her days. However, nothing brought her more happiness than spending quality time with her grandchildren and preparing delicious holiday meals to share with loved ones.

Margie passed away peacefully surrounded by family—a fitting tribute to a life well-lived. In her memory, she leaves behind a legacy of love and generosity that will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Margie is reunited in eternity with her parents, Harry and Elsie Heard, as well as siblings Harry Coleman Heard, Harry "Windy" Heard Jr., Hubert Heard, Bob Heard, Kathryn Vaughn, Lola Brown, Thelma Dear and Ruth Dugan. She will be dearly missed by her surviving family: daughters, Diane Williams (Jerry) of Bluejacket, Jeannie McDougal of Vinita; son, Mike McDougal (Calli) of Norman; brothers, Lonnie Heard and Homer Heard; niece Linda Hadley; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

In the tapestry of Margie's life, each thread represents a cherished memory shared with family and friends—a testament to the profound impact she had on all who knew her. May her legacy of love and warmth continue to illuminate our hearts during this time of loss.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later time by the family. Online condolences may be made at www.honoringmemories.com or on the funeral home Facebook page.

Arrangements are in the care of Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita.
