Myrtle Lorrine Bates, 92, of Vinita, passed away at her home December 23, 2021, at her home in Vinita.
She was born October 29, 1929, in Estella, Oklahoma, to Tom Cooper and Ollie (Pitts) Cooper. Lorrine graduated from White Oak Schools and on May 28, 1949, she married the love of her life, Roy Bates, in Vinita. Lorrine worked for many years at Eastern State Hospital, in Vinita, as a cook and server. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, in Vinita. Lorrine enjoyed gardening, canning, and caring for her chickens. She also enjoyed doing needlepoint. Lorrine was very family oriented and loved spending time with her family. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Preceding Mrs. Bates in death are her parents, Tom and Ollie Cooper, husband, Roy Bates, and siblings, Alfred Cooper, Marvin Cooper, LaRue Ramsey, and Patricia Brown.
Surviving Mrs. Bates are her son Paul LeRoy Bates, of Vinita, a sister, Thelma Guthrie, a special nephew, Payon Carroll, a niece, Brenda Foreman, many other relatives, and a host of friends.
Funeral services for Lorrine Bates will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 29, 2021. At Trinity Baptist Church in Vinita. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Vinita. Visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita. Online condolences may be left at www.honoringmemories.com or see out Facebook page.
