Ophelia Weston

June 20, 1938 — November 21, 2021


Ophelia Weston was born in Chelsea, Oklahoma on June 20, 1938, she was the third oldest child of the late Oliver and Hesterine Foster. She peacefully departed this life on November 21, 2021.

Ophelia attended the Attucks High School in Vinita, OK, but was transferred to be near home to the White Oak High School where she graduated in 1956

During Ophelia’s life time, she achieved many accomplishments. She worked at Vanity Fair Corporation, Robertsdale, AL for 25 years and Golden Living Health Center, Foley, AL for 14 years after which time she retired to care for husband.

Ophelia married her late husband, Robert Weston, and moved to Foley, Alabama where she resided for the past 65years. While there she attended the Southside Missionary Baptist Church, Frederick Cornish, Jr, Pastor.  Ophelia had accepted Christ at an early age and she was committed to her call.  She held many positions in her church for she loved the Lord with all her heart and showed it by sharing His word.  She was the president of the Missionary Board, Senior Usher Board, Vice President of the Pastor’s Aide ministry, Sunday School primary and intermediate teacher, Sunday School Superintendent, pianist for the youth Sunday school, Church Finance Recording Secretary, Trustee Board Member, Eastern Shore Baptist Association Mission Senior Advisor, Member of District Board, Head of Annual Tea Committee, and a volunteer in the kitchen when needed.

Ophelia leaves to cherish her loving memory: foster son, Norman Roberson and family, nieces, and nephews Ellen (Reggie)Johnson, Alicia Odem (Charles), Donnie Ray Weston, Foley, Al, devoted mission Board with many others family and friends in Alabama.

She also leaves her siblings, Ruby Adams, Carl Foster, Ann Dockins, Ruth (Ray) Irving, Vinita, OK, Roy (Socora) Foster, Stockton, CA, Geri (John) Diggs, Centreville, VA., and Oliver (Monika) Foster Jr, Germany, many nieces and nephews, Uncle King Solomon Wooten and a host of cousins and friends

Ophelia was proceeded in death by her Husband, Robert Weston, Parents Oliver and Hesterine Foster, Son, Freddie Foster Ryder, Jr, Sister, Pauline Foster and brother, Charlie Foster.
