Robert Eugene Nelson

Robert Eugene Nelson, of Afton, Oklahoma, passed away at home January 11, 2025. He was born October 10,1973 to Bennett Wesley Nelson and Ida Jayne (McLain) Nelson, in Odessa, Texas. The family moved to Oklahoma when he was young, and he attended Ketchum School’s. Robert was married to Courtney Chappell for many years. He enjoyed collecting rocks and riding motorcycles. Robert also enjoyed archery, throwing knives, and axes. He loved spending time by himself outdoors. Robert will be missed by all who know him.

Preceding Robert in death are his parents, Bennett and Ida Jane Nelson, and a sister, Donna Nelson. Survivors include his wife, Courtney Chappell; children, Erick Nelson of Cleora, Bridgett Philpott of Arkansas, Brandon Nelson, of Arkansas, Elisa Mann of Pryor; siblings, Scott Nelson and wife Jeany of Skiatook, Ok., Rebecca Golden of Vinita, Sheila Hobbs and husband Leo of Sapulpa, Ok., Patricia Smith and husband Dan of Tulsa, Ok.; 10 grandchildren; many other relatives and a host of friends.
