Robert J. Lee 87, Grove, Oklahoma died Sunday, November 29, 2020 in Jay, Oklahoma after a brief illness.

A native of Columbia, Missouri, Robert graduated from Hickman High School in 1951.  He enlisted in the Navy and served during the Korean War from 1952 through 1956 on the Mount McKinley.  He earned the rank of Radarman First Class.  After leaving the Navy, he obtained a Business Administration degree from the University of Missouri.  He spent the next several years working for National Gypsum Co.  In 1960, he married Juanita (Sherrell) Lee.  The couple was married for 10 years and during that time lived in Kansas, New Mexico, California, and Washington.

He continued his work in sales until his father passed away in 1987, at which time he moved back to Columbia to care for his mother.   There he began his second career in real estate sales and mortgage banking.  He retired in 2003 and moved to Grove.

Robert’s passions were driving too fast, flying, snow skiing, exercising, reading, and eating healthy.  He remained in good health, until his diagnosis of dementia at age 84.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Anna Lee and his two younger brothers, Ronald Lee and James Lee.

He is survived by his son Mark Lee and his wife Sherry of Grove, OK.  He had one grandchild, Tori Lee and three “bonus” grandchildren, Taylor Tate Swartz, Ben Tate and Abby Tate.

A private family memorial is planned for a later date.
