Rosie (Rosemary) Millikan, 78 years old, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 9th, 2025. She was born in Tahlequah Oklahoma to Lorna and Dwight Millikan on November 15th, 1947. She was the oldest of two children. Her brother is Doug Millikan of Bois D’Arc Missouri. She was also the proud mom of Brandon Scott Millikan.
Rosie was preceded in death by her parents and son.
Rosie graduated from Simi Valley high school in California in 1965. After enjoying the California sun, she followed her parents back to her home state of Oklahoma.
By the late seventy’s she obtained her cosmetology license and eventually opened her own beauty salon in the early eighties in Vinita Oklahoma called “The House of Brandon.” Working as cosmetologist she put herself through nursing school earning her LPN from NEO college.
Rosie’s passion was helping others in need, loving those who needed love and caring for those who needed care. She worked in her early years as a nurse in the Emergency Room in Grove Oklahoma and later took a position with Eastern State in Vinita where she spent 27 years and then retired.
Rosie loved a good flea market, garage sale, or antique shop, always looking for the next neat item. She had a large collection of cookbooks and enjoyed learning new recipes to cook for her family and friends. Prior to the loss of her vision, she excelled at crafts creating beautiful items from sewing and crocheting.
Rosie loved life, she loved her family, she loved her friends, and she loved God. She had a testimony of faith and endurance. Showing others that even in the midst of the storm God gives us strength. Through all the hardest times in Rosie’s life she always said that with God this too shall pass, and He would give her strength to endure.
She will be missed beyond what any words could describe. She was loved.
Rest in peace dear sweet Rosie and enjoy dancing in the streets of heaven as you see its glorious sight.
