Sammie Ann (Sage) Hendrix 85, passed away on July 31, 2020, in Nowata, Oklahoma. She was born September 15, 1934, to John Sage Sr. and Glenna (Arnold) Sage in Independence, Kansas. She graduated from Will Rogers High School. Sammie married the love of her life Jack Lee Hendrix on April 23, 1954 in Tulsa, OK. She was a hard worker and wasn’t afraid of getting her hands dirty. Sammie would get up in the mornings to lend a helping hand on the farm. She worked as a housekeeper for the Hays House in Nowata for several year upon retiring. Sammie was an avid reader and would read at least ten books a week. She enjoyed sitting on the porch watching the cattle graze and listening to the sound of nature. Sammie enjoyed spending time with the family and loved them unconditionally. She will be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by parents, a brother John Sage Jr., her husband Jack Lee Hendrix, one daughter Rebecca Muehlberg.

Survivors include her son Jimmie Hendrix and wife Julie of Nowata, seven grandchildren; Kegan Hendrix of Oolagah, OK, Bailey Hendrix and wife Reighly of Oolagah, OK, Chase Hendrix and wife Micayla of Sperry, OK, Natalie Sitton of the home, Amanda Muehlberg of Little Rock, AR, Dustin Muehlberg of Bartlesville, OK; three great granddaughters Karsyn, Sally, Katherine Hendrix, and a host of friends.

Graveside service for Sammie Hendrix will be held at 10:30a.m., Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Nowata, Oklahoma with Lawrence Green officiating.
