Sylvia Yvonne (Grubbs) Gieser Crawford passed away on Tuesday May 17, 2022, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born November 21, 1937, in Pensacola, Oklahoma, the daughter of Delbert and Cora Marie (Morrison) Grubbs. Sylvia was raised in Mayes County, attended Spavinaw School and then graduated from Jay High School. She sang in a gospel trio called The Daughters of God for over twenty years. Sylvia and the Daughters of God made CDs for Songs of Hope Ministries. One of Sylvia’s favorite things to do was to visit nursing homes and Veteran centers to distribute the CD’s and minister thru music to the residents. In her younger years Sylvia enjoyed hunting and fishing. She loved cooking and was a gracious hostess to all who entered her home. Above all, Sylvia loved Jesus and her family. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, husband Charles Crawford, daughter Denise Johnson, niece Shelly Grubbs, and a brother Austin Grubbs.
Survivors include son Trace Gieser and wife Jaime, of Vinita, Oklahoma, daughter Keli Graham and husband Danny, of Owasso, Oklahoma, stepchildren Steve and Kenny Crawford, of Fairland, Kelly Crawford, of Cleora, Kathleen Hill, and Husband Don, of Grove Oklahoma, LeAnn Pisarik and husband Paul, of Owasso, Oklahoma, one brother, John Dee Grubbs and wife Florena, of Spavinaw, fifteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, many other relatives and a host of friends.
Services for Sylvia will be Thursday May 26, 2022, at 10 AM at the Cleora Community Church (451154 East 295 Road Cleora, OK 74331) with Pastor Ben Lindsly officiating. Interment will follow at McLaughlin Cemetery in Cleora.
