Sylvia Ann Mulvehill

Sylvia Ann Magin Mulvehill was called to be with The Father and The Son, Lord Jesus Christ, on March 18th, 2024, at 10:27pm.

Sylvia was born on February 23rd, 1935, in Vinta, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Anthony and Anna Magin. She had two older brothers Jimmy and Chuck. Sylvia was a 1952 graduate of Vinta High School and attended Oklahoma State and Tulsa Universities and studied Accounting. On November 10th, 1957, she married George Glenn Mulvehill of Miami Oklahoma. She is survived by her spouse, George Glenn, of Vinta; daughter, Marcia Brewer of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; son, Mitchell Mulvehill of Carrollton, Texas; son, Anthony Mulvehill of Henderson, Nevada; grandchildren, Cole Brewer of Grapevine, Texas, Hannah Mulvehill of Carrollton, Texas, and Claire Brewer of Ashville, North Carolina; son-in-law Rick Brewer of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and daughter-in-law Quay Mulvehill of Carrollton, Texas.

Syliva was a bookkeeper for Reeves Brick Company in Baton Rouge for many years while raising three children before moving with her husband to Memphis, Tennessee where Texaco transferred Glenn. In 1990 Syliva and Glenn moved to Mandeville, Louisiana when Texaco transferred Glenn to one of the New Orleans offices. In 1993 Glenn retired from Texaco and moved he and Syliva back to Oklahoma where they lived-on Monkey Island on Grand Lake in Oklahoma. After several years they decided to move to Grove, Oklahoma in 2006. When an opportunity came to move back to her hometown of Vinta, Sylvia and Glenn decided to do just that in 2016.

Syliva had a passion for LSU Football and LSU Baseball. Something she took with her from her many years living in Baton Rouge, from where all three of her children graduated. She rarely missed a game. You could often hear her give it a resounding GEAUX TIGERS!!! on any given Saturday in the fall and during the College World Series in June.   Syliva also loved playing bridge with her girlfriends. One of her passions was making Fabergé Jeweled Decorated Eggs of all kinds. Using Ostrich and Chicken Eggs among the many. She would often donate these decorated eggs to charities. Syliva was an excellent cook and made all kinds of Greek dishes (She and her family were 100% Greek) and the many Cajun and seafood dishes she picked up from her time in Louisiana.

Syliva will be missed by many family and friends and will live in our hearts forever.
