Tommy Dale Jones, Jr., a man whose heart was as vast as the Oklahoma skies he called home, passed away on March 18, 2026, in Helena, Oklahoma. Born on November 22, 1986, in Coffeyville, Kansas, Tommy’s life was a testament to steadfast love, hard work, and the simple joys found in family and nature.
From a young age, Tommy found solace and purpose in the outdoors. His hands were skilled not only in nurturing the earth through his work in lawn care and landscaping but also in bringing life back to cars, a craft he cherished deeply. Those who knew him understood that his true passion lay not solely in his labors but in the time he devoted to his beloved children and family. Whether spending quiet afternoons fishing by the water's edge, swimming under wide-open skies, or riding four-wheelers across open fields, Tommy embraced the joys of life with an infectious enthusiasm that endeared him to all.
His generosity was boundless; Tommy was the kind of man who would give the shirt off his back—and even his shoes—if you needed them. His spirit of selflessness was a beacon to many, reflecting a genuine care that extended beyond words and gestures. This instinct to care was forged early in life, shaped by his experiences and faith. As a proud attendee of Bluejacket Baptist Church during his youth, Tommy was baptized at the age of 13, a milestone that marked his deep connection to his faith and community.
Tommy’s legacy lives on vividly through his loving family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Jill Jones, and his cherished children: Kaitlyn Jones and her fiancé Ethan Reece, Tommy Jones, III, AJ Jones, and Bruce “Doddle” Jones. His pride and joy also extended to his grandchildren, Alex Reece and Elijah Reece, who brought endless light into his life. Alongside them stand his parents, Peggy and Ric Watson, who nurtured him with love through every stage of his journey, and his special father figure, Bruce Jones, whose guidance shaped much of the man he became.
His siblings and extended family formed the tight-knit fabric of Tommy's world: Kimberly Chandler, Kristy Martin and husband Brina, Chuck Jones and wife Robin, Bruce “BJ” Jones, Justice (Treay) Shambles, Damian Jones, Myka Lunsford, Ireland Watson, Zach Shambles, Tatum Watson, and McKenzie Watson. Surrounding him were numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews—each held dear in his heart, a testament to the profound connections he fostered across generations.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, March 30, 2026 at First Baptist Church of Bluejacket with Pastor Austin Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in Pheasant Hill Cemetery with Chuck Jones, Bruce Jones, Damian Jones, Treay Shambles, Ethan Reece, and Brian Martin serving as casketbearers.
