Vernon Dale Samples, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and respected businessman, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2026, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, surrounded by family. Born on August 18, 1964, in Vinita, Oklahoma, Vernon lived a life marked by dedication, hard work, and a deeply rooted connection to his community.
As the owner and operator of his own construction business, Vernon was known for his unwavering commitment to quality and integrity in every project he undertook. His work not only built structures but also forged lasting relationships based on trust and respect. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Vernon was a man of many passions that vividly illustrated his vibrant and engaging personality.
Vernon’s love for Harley Davidson motorcycles was well known among his friends and family, embodying a spirit of freedom and adventure. His playful and sarcastic nature often shone through in his interactions, bringing laughter and joy to those around him. He treasured the time spent tinkering, always eager to understand how things worked or to find new ways to create and improve. Gardening with his wife Charline was another cherished pastime where he found peace and fulfillment, nurturing both plants and the bond they shared.
His home was a place of laughter and activity, especially evident in the way he delighted in letting his children and grandchildren ride go-karts. This joyful engagement was a testament to his generous heart and the importance he placed on family. Vernon’s family was the cornerstone of his life. He is survived by his loving wife, Charline; his children, Shandy Sampos, Chantilly Rider, Jamie Samples, Amanda Samples, Sara Belle Samples, and Norman Watkins; two grandsons who were like sons to him, Cameron and Josh; as well as numerous other grandchildren who remember him fondly. The family also mourns the loss of his granddaughter, Alexus Watkins.
