Violet Hicks

Violet June Hicks, lifetime resident passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at her home after a long illness, at the age of 82.  June was born June 5, 1938 in Vinita, OK, to Leonard Wood and Dorothy Mae (Houlston) Bingham.

June was raised in Vinita, OK, she attended and graduated from Vinita High school. Not long after graduating June married Charlie White and had 3 children; son, Leonard White (deceased), daughters, Vynetta Jennings of Vinita, Laura Hicks and husband Steve of Fritch, TX.  Later in life June met and eventually married Herman Hicks in January 1975, because grandmas were not allowed to be single.  Herman brought 4 sons and 1 daughter into her life and she loved them as her own, Larry Hicks and Brenda Smoke of Vinita, Sammy Hicks and wife Sherry of Jay, Sonny Hicks and wife Juanita of Broken Arrow, Ronnie Hicks (deceased).

June has 4 grandchildren and Herman has 19, too many great-grandchildren to count, but every child she met was considered her grandchild.  Betty Bridges (deceased), Ella Jane Johnson (deceased), Elizabeth Landers, Flora Upshaw, Mary Bible, Addie Nair, Lona May, Wanda Lee, Yvonna Lou Bingham (deceased), along with brothers, Bob (deceased), Jimmy Bingham of Rialto, CA, Ronnie Bingham, Jerry Bingham, and Tommy Bingham were her very much loved siblings.

Waiting on June in heaven are her parents, Leonard and Dorothy (Houlston) Bingham, husband, Herman Hicks, son, Leonard White, grandson, Frank Woods, stepson, Ronnie Hicks, Betty, Bob. Ella, Ronnie, Jerry, Lena Mae, Wanda Lee, Yvonne Lou, and Tommie.

A memorial service will be held at Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita, OK on Friday, February 05, 2021 at 2:00 PM.
