Virginia Beatrice Spurgeon, 90, of Commerce, Oklahoma, passed away January 18, 2022, at the Eastwood Care Nursing Center, in Commerce. She was born February 19, 1931, in Fairland, Oklahoma, to Al Hopper and Ida May (Stroud) Hopper. On July 5, 1950, she married the love of her life Orville Spurgeon, in Vinita. Virginia was a Nursing Home housekeeper for several years. She was a member of the Faith Tabernacle, in Commerce. She loved her church and reading in her Bible and devotionals. Virginia enjoyed trips to Branson with her niece, working word puzzles, and country music, George Strait and Alan Jackson. Most of all she loved her family. She loved the time she spent with them and had a special place in her heart for all of them. Virginia will be missed by all who knew her.

Preceding Virginia in death are her parents, Al and Ida Hopper; husband, Orville Spurgeon; children, Sherry Dottrich, Naomi Henry, Duke Spurgeon, Sheldon Spurgeon; two grandsons, Eric and Josh Spurgeon; and all her siblings.

Surviving Mrs. Spurgeon are a daughter, Sheila Gower; Five grandsons, and one granddaughter.

Graveside services for Virginia Spurgeon will be held Monday, 2:00 p.m., January 24, 2022, at Hickory Grove cemetery in Grove, Oklahoma, with Pastor Danny Showan officiating. Online condolences may be left at www.honoringmemories.com or see our Facebook page.
