Obituary

Doyle Lynn Burrus, 74, of Vinita, passed away at his home on May 6, 2022. He was born July 9, 1947, in Vinita, to David Arnold Burrus and Velda Alene (Taylor) Burrus. Doyle graduated from Bluejacket High School and continued his education graduating from NEO in Miami and spent some time at OU. On March 25, 1969, he joined the United States Navy and served his country until being discharged on March 8, 1971.Doyle worked many years as a nursing home caregiver. He was very artistic and enjoyed paint and drawing. Doyle loved meeting and helping others and spending time with them. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Preceding Mr. Burrus in death are his parents David and Velda Burrus, and a sister, Peggy Talley Farrell. Survivors include four children, Angela Montgomery, and husband Kenneth, of Colorado, David Burrus and wife Amber, of Mississippi, Staci Jackson, and husband James, of Minnesota, Melissa Adams, of Kansas, nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, a special niece Tamra Bro, many other relatives and a host of friends.
