Orville Breazeale

March 30, 1936 — February 24, 2023

Adair, Oklahoma

Orville Ray Breazeale (Ray) lifelong resident of northeast Oklahoma left this world on February 24, 2023, a little before noon. He was born in a small house in Salina Oklahoma on March 30, 1936. Ray was the second son of William Breazeale and Opal Carter Breazeale.

Ray was outgoing and full of laughter and tried to help anyone he could.  In high school he enjoyed baseball and in adulthood would listen to his favorite professional team the St. Louis Cardinals on the AM radio late into the evening hours. He loved to hunt, and his passion was chasing “coons” following his old Redbone-Walker hound. Ray enjoyed the outdoors and spent as much time outside as he could.

After graduation from Adair High School, he worked as a carpenter for Jim Powell’s Lumber Yard in Adair for a time before joining the workforce in Tulsa as a machinist.  In the early 1970’s ray found his true calling as a Union Millwright working from the Tulsa Oklahoma Local 943.  After retirement at 65, he began cattle ranching in earnest and continued this to varying degrees for the remainder of his time here.

In 1959 Ray married Betty Lea Pitts and enjoyed close to 64 years with the love of his life.  The pair worked side by side to raise 4 kids and countless head of beef cattle over the years. They remained inseparable until he went home last Friday morning.  His pet names for Betty were, My Sweety pie, Sugar and My Dollie. They never met or departed without his use of one of these endearments in his salutation or farewells.

Rays’ faith in Christ was strong his entire life and we take comfort in knowing that while he is no longer here, he is with the Lord and those family and friends who departed before him.

Orville Ray Breazeale was preceded in death by his father, mother, 2 brothers and a granddaughter.

Those of us left to remember and cherish his memory include, Wife of 64 years Betty Lea Breazeale, Sons Michael and Joseph Breazeale, Daughters Markeeta Taber and Tammy Carle, Son in laws Tony Taber and Michael Carle, daughter in laws, Marilynn Breazeale and Shanah Breazeale.  Left behind were also 5 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren as well as countless other family and friends.
