Vinita

Gram Grams

Shirly Fowler, known to many as Gram Grams passed away unexpectedly on September 12th, 2021. She resided in Vinita with her daughter, Holly and husband Sandy.

Shirly is survived by her six children, Debbie and Terry Horn of Disney, Edward and Bonnie Buford of Pryor, Rachelle and Johnny Skaggs of Strang, Veronica and John Dennis of McAllister, Holly and Sandy Gardner, Kristine and Ralph Norris of Ketchum, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, brother and sisters, Ernestine Wright, James McClain, and Loretta Tugman.

Born in 1944 by Mary Gladys and Edward McClain in Topsy, Oklahoma and preceded in death with her grandson, Justin Ingle, brothers, RL Phillips, Lawrence McClain, sister, Dee Scott as well as her two loves, Walter Buford and Hoppy Fowler.

Gram Grams said one time, she truly loved two great men in her life, one was your grandpa, the best lover she ever had and the other was your papa, the best provider she ever had.

She always had a good story with a lesson that followed. She scoured the woods for dogwoods and redbuds and told us all of the Jerusalem donkeys. She had a natural green thumb and she always said it came from watering them of the morning and talking really sweet to them, because you know everything grows stronger with love!

She always told us girls that we were just like her and told us what her mother told her and Aunt Ernestine. We were like butterflies; we’d float all around those beautiful flowers…then land on a cow pod.

She always said “I love you and I am very proud of each and every one of my kids and grandkids.”

She was loved by many, will be missed by many, and will always be in our hearts.

We love you Gram Grams.
