Dovie Graves

Dovie Jo (Johnson) Graves passed away August 01, 2021, in Vinita, OK. She was born September 14, 1946, in Disney, OK the daughter of Buster E. Johnson and May L. (Finley) Johnson. She graduated from Jay and attended Northeast Oklahoma University.  Dovie married Ronald W. Graves on October 02, 1970, in Miami, OK. They had four wonderful years together. Ronald passed away in Reno, NV, in October of 1974. Dovie said, “I belong to Jesus, I love my Jesus and my children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; especially when I could see them all”. She enjoyed working in home health care, working in her yard and cleaning her home. Dovie loved her brother Ernest, he was the most loyal man to Jesus she had ever known and if he told you something you could put your life on it.

She was preceded by her parents; husband, Ronald Graves; daughter, Teresa Graves; two brothers, Arthur and Marvin Johnson and two sisters Joy Anderson, and Shirley Johnson.

Dovie is survived by daughters, Deborah Oakley and husband Mike of Big Cabin, OK, Rhonda Graves of Dallas, TX; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Ernest Johnson and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

A family visitation will be Wednesday, August 04, 2021, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel, Vinita, OK. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Thursday, August 05, 2021, at the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel, Vinita, OK. Burial will follow at Ghormley Cemetery, Pensacola, OK.
